    Hey Sheffo-

    “Comments closed.”

Not one for dialog are you?

I like what you say with the exception of the tax on short term rentals. It seems like you have no business sense. Plus you seem to want to become a “politician” as a career. Not good.

You really haven’t proven yourself as a successful business person, why would I think you could manage a City’s finances. What have you done for yourself that make you worthy of earning my respect?

Clerk for Pam Slater. Pony boy for some other republican piece of )(*&. Editor to the censoring king of press North County Times. Plus its known the North County Times skews news in favor of their biggest advertising dollars Developers and Real Estate dumb asses. Why would you work for suck a one sided press.

Watch out though, once you’re in office you may fall victim to the force of city power and become a dark suited Villon like Jerome Stocks. Be careful OB1Knoby.

I hope you win. It will be fun to watch how you represent Encinitas. Are you interested in listening to the residents interests or are you special interest like Jerome. Lets see if the Building Industry of America supports you Plus the Fire Union. That will be a sure give away. If so, your no different than Mr. Stocks.

Keep up the good fight. I think your kindof cute.... In a Mike Myers sort of way.

  7. Yea, but will your blog let us speak up? What is wrong with cutting and pasting your comments on this one? Are we not good enough for you, or are you afraid of the responses? This blog is the "real" Encinitas and by not posting your thoughts on City matters in a way we can discuss, why should any of us vote for you? Either do not post on this blog at all, of cut and paste. Otherwise you certainly won't have my vote.

  8. Reading some of the tripe posted by the immature antisocial angry loners on this blog I understand and applaud Mr. Sheffo for screening comments on his website.

  9. immature angry loners are part of the citizenry of Encinitas. I agree, if Sheffo is going to publicize himself on this blog, he should have the cojones to bear the heat from the IALs. Bob does.

Hey Sheffo. I like you. I will be voting for you.

So far my votes go Rachelle Collier, Joe Sheffo, and Bob N.....

I may be busting your balls a bit, but it’s the only way to get to no someone’s true identity. I would also appreciate if one of your friends would teach you how to cut and paste so I don’t have to. Below is Joes response to the questions.
    From Joe:
Ha! I’m not David Archuleta’s older brother, but I do have a fair singing voice.

Here’s my response to a few of the other comments:

“Not one for dialog are you?”

As I’ve explained before, I don’t allow comments on my blog because I don’t want to put myself in the position of deciding who gets to say what on my site.

Leucadia Blog and others like it are a better forum for truly free speech.

“You seem to want to become a “politician” as a career.”

I’m running for Encinitas City Council because this is my hometown and I care deeply about its future. It’s time for a much-needed change of direction on the council so that we can start planning for the challenges of the next 20 years instead of arguing about the past 20 years.

As to politics as a career, you know what makes God laugh? When humans make plans. I’ve got my hands full running for city council. I’m not looking past this November.

“You really haven’t proven yourself as a successful business person, why would I think you could manage a city’s finances.”

Budgets are about values and setting priorities. You may be a financial genius, but if you’re not able to make tough decisions about spending and you don’t have a vision for the future, it doesn’t matter.

My qualification to deal with city finances is that I’m not color blind. I can tell the difference between red and black.

And, did I mention, I’m the only anti-tax candidate in the race? I think that government, whether it be on Capitol Hill or at 505 S. Vulcan, should start to live within its means.

“What have you done for yourself that make you worthy of earning my respect?”

I know how government works and I understand politics. Whether that’s enough to meet the basic qualifications for a seat on the city council is a matter I’ll leave up to voters.

“…Its known the North County Times skews news in favor of their biggest advertising dollars Developers and Real Estate dumb asses. Why would you work for suck a one sided press.”

I’ll tell you what I learned working for a “one-sided” press:

I learned to listen to both sides of an issue.

    I learned to check facts.

I strengthened my already formidable critical thinking skills.

I learned even more about issues affecting Encinitas/North County than I did after working for two local elected officials.

I learned how to get along with people I disagree with.

I learned that you have to listen to everyone — even that annoying guy who you think is a little crazy — because sometimes he’s right.

“Lets see if the Building Industry of America supports you Plus the Fire Union.”

I can assure you that because of my belief that firefighter pensions, as they’re currently constituted, cannot be sustained over the longterm, I will not be getting the endorsement of the fire, or any other public employee, union.

I will not accept an endorsement from the Building Industry Association.
