It seems to me that a lot of trees fall over around here, including the one in front of the Leucadia post office and the one in the roadside park. Why is it that the park's tree wasn't staked? It was sure new enough to still need it. Also, the city seems all too happy to cut up and remove trees that get a little off-center, as opposed to re-staking them (better). It seems like about every third tree that gets planted around here gets knocked down and cut up. WTF?
city says dog hours are no problem, 24/7, nuff trees for lifting legs...multi density drama coming soon
Hopefully, the city will plant canopy trees like the jacoranda on the west side and not take over the limited space with the spralling trees that they choose, that take over 30% of the park. In the old days there were six huge trees that still allowed full use of our tiny park.
I agree. The new trees are oddly placed. The jacaranda trees are perfect. Bring back the picnic table!
No picnic tables for Leucadia park. No more bums in Leucadia. We want roundabouts not bums.
Bums need a place to.
What bums? Those are just trust fund baby surfers.
It was a drunk driver. He ran over one ofthe roundabouts, jumped the tracks, hopped the curb, broke through the fence, and drove throught the park. He was found a few minutes later inthe 7-11 parking lot with 2 flat front tires and a crunched front end. He was arrested for DUI.
The City eventually will have to sell it to pay for employee retirement benefit increases. How about a Starbucks there!
City employees kind of work and really want those pensions..... sell the park!
Talking about Leucadia Blvd, the recent road work on btwn Hymettus and Hygeia is the most atrociously shoddy road work I have ever seen. Complete amateur work at best.
