New Coffee Shop Opens in North Leucadia!

Today is the "soft opening" of the new coffee shop next door to Surfy Surfy Surf Shop.
All the coffee is fresh roasted on site. Come check out the amazing transformation of the old Longboard Grotto board room into a spiffy new coffee shop.
It's a great rainy afternoon to cruise down and get an expresso.
Hooray!

  1. That place is sweet! Definitely my new favorite coffee house.

Awesome! I better start hitting the decaf though....I don't like jitters.

  2. No offence to the coffee shop -- I hope they make it -- but I have a couple questions:

    1. An indy coffee shop so close to Pannikin? What's the rationalization for that? How is this place better?

    2. Why did they choose a name with ambiguous pronunciation? Is it Cafe "e-pay"? "I pay"?

    1. North Leucadia (Leucadia Blvd to La Costa Ave) actually craves a Pannikan alternative due to their long lines and early afternoon closing time. The new coffee shop will be open into the evening/night.

    2. My vote was Coffee Coffee.

  5. Rob, serously, have you seen the line length at Pannikin sometimes?

I think it would be great to have two great coffee choices in that area.

  6. Pannikan is too crowded. If this place serves better coffee, its a win.

It will only need to take 10% or less of the of the coffee business to stay afloat. plus first to hit the Carlsbad commuters.

    Its a winner. guaranteed.

  8. I haven't seen the line at Pannikin, and I hadn't considered their closing time to be an issue. Good points -- thanks for all the responses. Good luck to, er, Coffee Coffee?

  11. Panni-who? I bought a bag of Cafe Ipé beans, roasted on site, called 'Bootleg'. I liked it so much it displaced my old grounds faster than you can say coffee coffee.
